Frövi fase 2

In cooperation with the Danish Selected Group, KUBO is realising the second phase of Project Frövi in Sweden: an advanced 10-hectare Ultra-Clima greenhouse for growing tomatoes. With this project, KUBO takes another major step towards climate-positive greenhouse horticulture, combining technology, sustainability and data-driven cultivation.

Ultra-Clima: sustainable and certified

The new greenhouse is based on KUBO's Ultra-Clima concept and has official CO₂ footprint certification. Research shows that tomatoes from an Ultra-Clima greenhouse emit 25.4% less CO₂ per kilo than tomatoes from a traditional Venlo greenhouse. By using renewable energy, reusing CO₂ for fertilisation and efficient systems, even CO₂-negative cultivation is possible.

The project includes the latest technology in climate systems, water and energy management and screening installations. This combination ensures optimal indoor climate and maximum efficiency, independent of outdoor weather conditions. This results in higher yields and lower consumption of natural resources.

Project Frövi 2 strengthens Sweden's domestic tomato production. Together with the first greenhouse - operational since June 2024 - the facilities will account for around 10% of national tomato consumption. Completion of Frövi 2 is scheduled for summer 2026.
